Preparing a Simulation Process for Simulation Companion

A simulation attribute determines the process modeling app that opens a simulation process.

A simulation process has a Simulation Kind attribute that determines where you can access the process. When a simulation process is created by Process Composer, the Simulation Kind attribute is set to method by default, and the process cannot be accessed by Simulation Companion.

Alternatively, you can create a simulation process and set its Simulation Kind attribute to adhoc.

When you create a new simulation process from an experience in Simulation Companion, the Simulation Kind attribute is set to adhoc, and the process can be executed only by Simulation Companion.

When the Simulation Method Developer is confident that their methodology has matured to the point where the process is well defined, they can deploy the process to other users in the organization by editing its properties with Process Composer and changing the Simulation Kind attribute to method.

Conversely, if you want to use Simulation Companion to modify and execute a simulation process created by Process Composer, you must change its Simulation Kind attribute from method to adhoc. However, changing the attribute type can result in unexpected behavior and is not recommended.
