About Parameter Response Variables

Parameter response variables measure the response of the model to the design changes you are studying.

About Objectives and Constraints

Parameter response variables change value based on the model's response to the change in the design variables. Parameter response variables can serve three purposes:

  • Record measurements for each design in the study
  • Set an objective or goal for a study
  • Set a constraint to define allowable limits for a particular parameter

When you create response variables, you are determining what model responses are measured for each design point in a study. For each design in the study, the analysis is run and the responses are recorded. The response variable results are compared to the objectives to rank a design for its compliance to the study. Designs that violate a constraint are marked infeasible.
