Running a Simulation Process

After you have finished modifying the parameters associated with the selected simulation process, you can run the simulation process. You can run a selected simulation activity in a simulation process when you are editing the parameters of a simulation process. Configure and Run a New Job

  1. From the Details panel, click .
  2. Enter the job title.
  3. Enter the job description.

    The description should contain information that will help you identify the job in the future.

  4. Optional: If you want to use a different execution license than the one specified in the Preferences menu, select a license scheme for the process from the Job Options tab.

    If the license mode specified in the Job Options is different from the one in the Preferences menu, the license mode in the Job Options takes precedence. For more information about changing the licensing for a simulation process, see Preferences.

  5. Click Run.
    Performance Study creates a new simulation job.
  6. Performance Study requests login credentials based on any affinities that have been specified.

    For example, when you run a simulation process on a Windows 3DOrchestrate Station on which Run-As is enabled, Performance Study requests only the Windows login credentials. In addition, if the Isight adapter is configured in the process, Performance Study requests the Isight credentials. The credentials you provide persist for the duration of your session.

Run a Job

  1. Open the simulation process in Performance Study.

    You can run a simulation process only if you have write access.

    Tip: You can drag a process or template from Process Experience Studio.

  2. Click Run from the Performance Study window.
    Performance Study creates a new simulation job, and displays an estimate of its progress; for example, the number of adapters that have finished running in a Process Composer simulation process relative to the total number of adapters defined in the process.
  3. Performance Study requests login credentials based on any affinities that have been specified.

    For example, when you run a simulation process on a Windows 3DOrchestrate Station on which Run-As has been enabled, Performance Study requests only the Windows login credentials. In addition, if the Isight adapter is configured in the process, Performance Study requests the Isight credentials. The credentials you provide persist for the duration of your session.

Pause or Stop a Simulation Job

You can pause or stop a simulation job that is running.

When you run a simulation process, Performance Study displays the following additional buttons in the Details panel:
