You can use a connector force to apply a concentrated force to an available component of relative motion of a connector to model actuation.

Before you begin: You must have defined a connector in the Modeling app.

  1. From the Loads section of the action bar, click Connector Force .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select the supports in the model.

A connector force can be applied to a connector with available components of relative motion.

  4. Enter the magnitude component in the Force X, Force Y, and Force Z fields to apply the force to the available components of relative motion U1, U2, and U3, respectively.
  5. Optional: Enter a Scale factor that is applied to the magnitude in each step.
  6. Optional: Select an Amplitude that defines the magnitude during the step.
  7. Optional: For harmonic response steps, specify the Phase angle for the amplitude curve. The phase angle determine the real (in-phase) and imaginary (out-of-phase) parts of the magnitude. A phase angle of 0ยบ indicates a value with no imaginary component.
  8. Click OK.
