Opening Communication Ports in Your Firewall

You must open specific ports in your firewall for 3DOrchestrate.

Firewalls will interfere with communications between the various components of the 3DOrchestrate system. The 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server does not have any built-in capacity to work around or through firewalls; therefore, if your network does have firewalls, you must open the appropriate ports to allow the 3DOrchestrate Stations to connect to the 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server. The client apps can communicate with the 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server through a reverse web proxy.

To ensure that your 3DOrchestrate system functions correctly, the 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server must be able to communicate with each of the stations on your network. To allow the proper communication, you must configure any firewalls between the 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server and the station computers for specific port exceptions. You only need to perform this port configuration on the computer running the 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server; it is not necessary to alter the firewall settings on each station computer, unless one of these computers is acting as a license server.

For the TomEE-based 3DOrchestrate Distribution Server using the default ports, you must open the following port numbers: 8080 and 61716.
