Custom View and One-Click Templates

Process Experience Studio helps a simulation methods developer create a user interface that is displayed when a simulation analyst instantiates the simulation template.

You can create two different types of simulation templates with Process Experience Studio—custom view templates and one-click templates. You have more control over the graphical appearance of a custom view template; one-click templates are more straightforward, but you have limited control over their appearance.

This page discusses:

Custom View Templates

When you are creating a custom view simulation template, Process Experience Studio provides tools to create the following elements of the user interface:

  • Graphics elements, such as sections, text labels, and separators
  • Text input elements, such as text fields, tables, and date selectors
  • Value elements, such as sliders and dropdown lists
  • Logical elements, such as check boxes
  • Data elements, such as media and XY plots

The figure below shows an example of a custom view user interface created by Process Experience Studio. This view is seen by a simulation analyst when they instantiate the simulation template in Performance Study.

One-Click Templates

When you are creating a one-click simulation template, you can configure which options are exposed, mandatory, or read-only. However, you cannot change the view of the interface; for example, you cannot change the variable label or change the order in which the variables appear.

The figure below shows an example of a one-click user interface created by Process Experience Studio. This view is seen by a simulation analyst when they instantiate the simulation template.
