About Internal Fans

An internal fan enables you to model the effects of a fan located within the model without having to simulate the actual fan blades.

You can apply an internal fan on a 3D part in your model to enhance the realism of the fan modeling.

You can select any 3D part as the location of the internal fan. Simple 3D fans are typically meshed cylinders, but you can provide greater realism by including the geometry of the fan casing. Do not include the internal mechanism of the fan (such as its blades and hub) in your model.

Internal fans are a good option when you want to simulate the effects of an internal fan and include the actual geometry of the fan in the model. If including the geometry is less important for your simulation, you can add a fan interface to simulate the effects of a fan specified at a surface in your model.
