Defining Port Regions

You can define a port region, which specifies the portion of model geometry that interacts with another simulation in a co-simulation experiment.

A port region also specifies the coupling of the two solvers; for example, in an FSI co-simulation the Abaqus/Standard structural analysis and the CFD flow analysis.

A port region can consist of surfaces, three-dimensional regions, or vertices.

About Co-Simulation Interactions
  1. From the Interactions section of the action bar, click Port Region .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select the geometry supports in the model.

You can select surfaces, three-dimensional regions, or vertices. You can also choose a named geometry publication, mesh part, or group of mesh objects. See Selection of Other Entities.

  4. Click OK.
