Output Requests

The 3DEXPERIENCE platform supports importing some Nastran data cards that do not directly correspond to Abaqus keywords.

Features Supported for Import from Abaqus

The following table provides the supported Nastran data cards, their supported fields, and the 3DEXPERIENCE features created for them.

Nastran Card Category Nastran Card (Supported Fields) Notes 3DEXPERIENCE Feature
Case Control SET (n) Either a node group or an element group is created, depending on the output request card that refers to the SET card.
  • If the SET card is referenced by the DISP or SPCFORCE cards, the import process creates a node group.
  • If the SET card is referenced by the ESE, FORCE, STRESS, or STRAIN card, the import process creates an element group.
DISP (SORT1, SORT2, ALL or SID)1 Output request: U - Translations and rotations
ESE (SORT1, SORT2, ALL or SID)1 Output requests:

ELSE - Total elastic strain energy

ESEDEN - Whole element elastic strain energy density

FORCE (SORT1, SORT2, ALL or SID)1 Output requests:

CTF - Connector total forces and moments

SF - Section forces and moments, S11

SPCFORCE (SORT1, SORT2, ALL or SID)1 Output request: RF - Reaction forces and moments
STRAIN (SORT1, SORT2, ALL or SID)1 Output request: E - Total strain components
STRESS (SORT1, SORT2, ALL or SID)1 Output request: S - Stress components
Note:
  1. The import process selects the output group (field or history) and the support based on the output card describer:
    • If the describer is blank or SORT1, the import process creates a field output request; if the describer is SORT2, it creates a history output request.
    • If the describer is ALL for SORT1, the import process selects the whole model as the support for the output request; if the describer is equal to a SID, the import process selects the group created by the SET card as the support.
