Monitoring a Simulation Interactively

When you run a simulation from an app, you can monitor its progress interactively from the Simulation Status dialog box.

  1. If the Simulation Status dialog box is not already open, navigate to the Standard section of the action bar, and then click Simulation Status .
  2. Click the Messages tab to display error messages, warning messages, and informational messages, if any.
  3. Click the Licensing messages tab to display information about tokens or credits consumed (for cloud roles only).
  4. Click the Plots tab to display plots.
  5. Click the Iterations tab to display a table of information about the simulation at each iteration.
  6. Click the Diagnostic files tab to display the contents of the data file, message file, and status file for the analysis.

    You can also search within the files or copy their contents to the clipboard. Enter the text and click Find to jump to the next match or Previous to back up to the last one. You can also copy the full contents of a file by right-clicking its tab and selecting Copy file text to clipboard.

  7. For remote or cloud simulations, select Refresh the session to access the updated results from database tab to display the latest results from the progress of the simulation.
  8. Click Terminate if you want to end the simulation job while it is still in progress, and select a termination method:

    Terminate after... Ends the simulation after completing and saving results for the running frames of all analysis cases.
    Terminate now... Ends the simulation immediately. For local execution, results for any completed frames are saved. For remote or cloud execution, no results are saved.

    Click OK to close the Terminate Simulation dialog box.

  9. If the simulation is complete, click Close.
