Applying Bolt Displacements

You can apply a bolt displacement to simulate tightening of a physical or virtual bolt by shrinking the length of the bolt by a specified distance.

Defining Meshed Bolt Sections
  1. From the Loads section of the action bar, click Bolt Displacement .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select the support in the model.

    A bolt displacement must be applied to either a virtual bolt connection or a meshed bolt section.

  4. Enter a distance in the Displacement field.
  5. Optional: Enter a Scale factor that is applied to the magnitude in each step.
  6. Optional: Select an Amplitude that defines the magnitude during the step.
  7. Click OK.
