Applying Connector Rotational Velocities

You can apply a rotational velocity of one endpoint of a connector relative to the other. The velocity is in the local directions associated with the available components of relative rotational motion of the connector.

Before you begin: You must have defined a connector in the Modeling app.

  1. From the Loads section of the action bar, click Connector Rotational Velocity .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select the supports in the model.

A connector rotational velocity can be applied to a connector with available components of relative rotational motion.

  4. Select the fields to define a rotational velocity in the X-, Y-, or Z-direction.
  5. Enter the angular velocity component in the Rotational Velocity X, Rotational Velocity Y, and Rotational Velocity Z fields.

X, Y, and Z correspond to the available components of relative rotational motion VR1, VR2, and VR3, respectively.

  6. Optional: Enter a Scale factor that is applied to the magnitude in each step.
  7. Optional: Select an Amplitude that defines the magnitude during the step.
  8. Click OK.
