Applying Rotary Acceleration Forces

You can apply a rotary acceleration force to all bodies in a model to mimic the rotation of the model about an axis at a constant acceleration. Only one rotary acceleration force can be applied in a scenario.

A rotary acceleration force cannot be applied to axisymmetric elements or in explicit dynamic steps.

Support Selection
  1. From the Loads section of the action bar, click Rotary Acceleration Force .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Optional: Select the geometry supports in the model.

    If you do not select geometry supports, the rotary acceleration force is automatically applied to all bodies in the model.

  4. Select an edge or axis in the model representing the center of rotation.
  5. Enter the Rotational acceleration of the model.
  6. Optional: Enter a Scale factor that is applied to the magnitude in each step.
  7. Select an Amplitude that defines the magnitude during the step.
  8. Click OK.
