Creating Smooth Step Amplitudes

You can apply smooth step amplitudes to define an amplitude by fitting a smoothly varying curve between explicitly defined amplitude values at convenient points on the time scale. You can apply an amplitude curve to a load to allow arbitrary time variations of the load magnitude throughout a step.

Feature Manager
  1. From the Setup section of the action bar, click Smooth Step Amplitude .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select a Time span for the amplitude.

Note: You cannot change the time span once the amplitude is created. To change it, you must delete the amplitude and create a new one.

  4. Enter Time/Frequency points and associated Amplitude magnitudes in the amplitude table. You can also import data from an external file by right-clicking in the table.
  5. Click OK.
