About Material Data as a Function of Independent Field Variables

You can often specify material data as a function of independent field variables, such as temperature.

Specifying Material Data as a Function of Temperature and Independent Field Variables

Material properties are made temperature-dependent by specifying them at several different temperatures or by specifying a polynomial curve that describes material values versus temperature. If you assign a temperature-dependent material to your model, the app applies an initial temperature condition of 295 K to the whole model to determine the material's properties. This condition cannot be changed, and it does not appear in the user interface.
