Applying Remote Forces

You can use a remote force to apply a translational load in a single direction. The force might be applied in one location (potentially not on the model) and transmitted to a different location on the model.

  1. From the Loads section of the action bar, click Remote Force .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Select the geometry supports in the model.

    You can apply a remote force to one or more faces. The force is distributed over the selected supports.

  4. To change the application point and direction of the force, right-click its glyph and select one of the positioning tools.
  5. Enter a magnitude for the Force.
  6. Click OK.
