Filtering the Feature List in the Feature Manager

You can reduce the size of the feature list in the Feature Manager to simplify the presentation and make it easier to work in large simulation models.

  1. From the standard area of the action bar, click Feature Manager .

Tip: The Feature Manager is also available from the context menu.

  2. To open the filter panel, click Show Filter .
  3. Clear the check box for any feature type (clamp, pressure, etc.) or category (restraints, loads, etc.) to filter it out of the Feature Manager list.

You can select the check box again at any time to turn off the filtering and to add the feature type or category back into the list.

The Feature Manager also includes the following filters:

    Name
Filters the list by feature name. Enter any text string to find it in the Name column, with or without the wildcard symbol *. You can use other regular expression (search) operators such as quote marks (for exact matching) and |, !, or ^. Click to make the text search case-sensitive; click it again to turn off case-sensitivity.
    Definition
Filters the list by feature definition. Enter any text string or numeric value to find in the Definition column. Wildcards and expressions can be used to help describe the text or number to identify. You can search using numeric operators (greater than, less than, equal to) on feature values; for example, to show only pressures greater than 1 Newton per square meter.
    Show Only Invalid Features
Filters the list to show only features that have some type of error. These features are highlighted in red or yellow in the list, and a description of the problem is given in the expandable pane below the list.

  4. Optional: To save the filter configuration, enter a name and click Save this filter .
  5. After saving a filter, you can do the following:
    OptionDescription
    Edit saved filter properties.
    Delete this saved filter.
    Undo the saved filter creation.

If you delete the current filter, the feature list does not update until you perform some other filtering action.

  6. Optional: To return the filter to the default settings, click Reset Filter .

The manager contents are filtered according to your selections.

Note: You can expand or collapse portions of the feature tree by using the context menu.
