Editing Simulation Parameters

You can edit the parameters for your buckling and frequency simulations. For example, you can edit the number of modes used to calculate eigenvalues.

This task shows you how to:

Edit Buckling Simulation Parameters

  1. From the Setup section of the action bar, click Edit Simulation Parameters .
The Buckling Step dialog box appears.
  2. Enter a value for the Number of buckling modes, which is the number of eigenvalues to be calculated to estimate the critical buckling loads.

Significant overestimation of the actual number of eigenvalues can create very large files. If you underestimate the actual number of eigenvalues, the app issues a corresponding warning message.

  3. Click OK.

Edit Frequency Simulation Parameters

  1. From the Setup section of the action bar, click Edit Simulation Parameters .
The Frequency Step dialog box appears.
  2. Enter a value for the Number of modes to specify the number of eigenvalues to be calculated.
  3. Enter a value for the Minimum frequency, which is the minimum eigenvalue frequency of interest.
  4. Enter a value for the Maximum frequency, which is the maximum eigenvalue frequency of interest.
  5. Click OK.
