Creating a Motion Probe

You can create a motion probe.

About Motion Probes
  1. From the Mechanism section of the action bar, click Motion Probe.
  2. From the Measurement Frames section, specify how to locate or position the markers:
    1. Specify the Vehicle Fixed, which is the marker located at the vehicle.
    2. Specify the Wheel center, which is the marker located at the wheel plate center.
  3. From the Investigation Mode section, select one of the following:

    Wheel jounce and rebound Defines the measurements using the markers located at the tie rod ends.
    Steering Defines the measurements using the markers located at the spring, damper, jounce bump, and rebound bump.
  4. If you selected Wheel jounce and rebound from the Investigation Mode options, do the following.
    1. From the Location options, select if your axle is front (Front axle) or rear (Rear axle).
    2. From the Investigation Mode section, enter the value for the Tire radius and the Rim radius.
    3. From the Measurement Points section, select the markers that define the points to be measured.
  5. If you selected Steering from the Investigation Mode options, do the following.
    1. From the Investigation Mode section, enter the value for the Tire radius.
    2. From the Measurement Points section, select the markers that define the points to be measured.

The probe appears in the tree, under the Mechanism node of the active mechanism
