Porous Bulk Moduli

A porous bulk moduli material model defines the bulk modulus of solid grains and a permeating fluid such that their compressibility can be considered in the analysis of the porous medium.

You can specify the bulk modulus of the solid grains and the bulk modulus of the fluid as functions of temperature. If either modulus is omitted or set to zero, that phase of the material is assumed to be fully incompressible.

You must define the porous bulk moduli material model when a swelling gel is modeled. You cannot use porous bulk moduli with the porous metal plasticity material model.

Input Data Description
Bulk modulus of grain Bulk modulus of solid grains, K g . If K g = 0 , the value is assumed to be infinite.
Bulk modulus of permeating fluid Bulk modulus of permeating fluid, K w . If K w = 0 , the value is assumed to be infinite.
Use temperature-dependent data Specifies material parameters that depend on temperature. A Temperature field appears in the data table.
Number of field variables Specifies material parameters that depend on one or more independent field variables. A Field column appears in the data table.
