Magnetic Dispersion

You can specify the magnetic dispersion of a material by defining the dependency of the real part of the magnetic permeability and of the loss tangent on the electric field frequency.

You can define orthotropic magnetic dispersion by specifying the components of the μ R and tan δ m tensors in the X, Y, and Z directions.

This page discusses:

Isotropic

Input Data Description
MuR Real part of the magnetic permeability, μ R .
Tan Delta Magnetic loss tangent, tan δ m .
Frequency (Hz) The frequency in Hz for each pair of magnetic permeability and magnetic loss tangent values.

Orthotropic

Input Data Description
MuR (X), MuR (Y), and MuR (Z) Components of the μ R tensor in the X, Y, and Z directions.
Tan Delta (X), Tan Delta (Y), and Tan Delta (Z) Components of the magnetic loss tangent, tan δ m , in the X, Y, and Z directions.
Frequency (Hz) The frequency in Hz for each pair of magnetic permeability and magnetic loss tangent values.
