Power Spectral Density (PSD) Profiles

The power spectral density (PSD) defines the frequency dependence profile of the random loading in a random vibration analysis step.

A PSD profile specifies the randomness of the loads you apply in a random vibration step. It consists of a table of frequencies and the corresponding real and imaginary magnitude values for each one.

After you define a PSD, you can specify it as the frequency profile for the loads in a random vibration step. Power spectral density profiles are supported in the three loads you can define in a random vibration step: forces, pressures, and base accelerations. Multiple loads can share the same PSD definition.
