About Fluid Exchange Activation

When you activate fluid exchange definitions in a step, the simulation includes the effects of fluids flowing between fluid cavities or from a fluid cavity to the environment.

Fluid cavities and fluid exchange behaviors are specified as part of the model, but the simulation does not consider their effects unless you activate the fluid exchange in a simulation step. During fluid exchange activation, you can also specify the following: blockage behaviors, whether the fluid flows in one direction or both ways, and the relative size of the fluid leakage area.

  • Blockage behaviors
  • Whether the fluid flows in one direction or both ways
  • Relative size of the fluid leakage area

If your model has multiple fluid exchange behaviors, you can activate as many of them as you like in a single fluid exchange activation.
