Introduction to Durability Output
Durability simulations generate all relevant durability output automatically. You cannot
create an output request to generate output for a subset of the durability output
variables.
For simulations that include both base metal fatigue and weld fatigue, output for the
following variables contains the worse value of the base metal fatigue and weld fatigue
values:
- FatigueDamage and LOGLifeRepeats
- SMax, SMaxRatioUTS, and SMaxRatioYS
- WCDamageParam, WCMeanStress, and WCStressDamageParam
For stress-life methods, the simulation does not perform the Neuber correction. Therefore,
the values of the durability output variables WCDamageParam, WCMeanStress, and
WCStressDamageParam will match the corresponding before-Neuber correction variables.

- FKM static load event utilization for equivalent stresses.

- FKM fatigue loading event utilization for stresses perpendicular to the weld
line.

- FKM fatigue loading event utilization for weld line longitudinal shear stresses.
- EventFatigueDamage
- Fatigue damage per loading event.
- FRF_HORIZONTAL
- Fatigue reserve factor (FRF) with respect to mean stress scaling. FRF values greater
than 1 pass the infinite life criteria.
- FRF_RADIAL
- FRF with respect to scaling stress amplitude and mean stress equally.
- FRF_VERTICAL
- FRF with respect to stress amplitude scaling.
- FRF_WORST
- Worst of horizontal, vertical, and radial FRFs.
- FatigueDamage
- Fatigue damage.
- LOGLifeRepeats
- Fatigue life of components in your part in terms of the number of repeats of the
loading history before failure. The app
displays Log of Life logarithmically in log base 10. If a component failed after
107 repeats of the load history, the contour plot color codes that region
with a color that corresponds to 7 in the plot legend.
