Selecting Which Parts to Include in a Simulation

You can indicate that certain components of your assembly should not participate in the simulation.

  1. From the Setup section of the action bar, click Contributing Parts .
  2. Select Display excluded parts to display currently excluded parts in the viewport. These parts and subassemblies are displayed in gray, while included parts are displayed in green.
  3. Include or exclude a part or subassembly from the simulation using either of the following methods:
    • Click the part in the viewport.
    • Select the checkbox for the part or subassembly in the Contributing Parts dialog box.

    Tip: When you define the parts that contribute to your simulation, it is often necessary to select components that are inside other assembly components or obscured by other assembly components. You can use the F7 key to temporarily render a component translucent, allowing you to see through it and select a component behind it; see Support Selection for more information.

  4. Click OK.
