Automated FEM: User-Driven Context Menu Selections

Many of the options within the Automated FEM user-driven method are found in a context menu.

This page discusses:

Procedure Options

The Procedure column options allow you to choose whether a new FEM representation and mesh are created for a 3D shape and whether to open previously created representations.

Option Result
Apply Procedure A new FEM representation and mesh are created using the selected procedure type.
Ignore the product Nothing is created.
Apply same procedure

Reframe on Focus the Explore view on the selected representation (available only on previously created FEM representations).
Reuse the FEM of another instance Reuse the FEM representation from another instance of the same part.
Reuse Existing FEM Use the existing FEM representation instead of creating a new one.

Input Options

The Inputs column options allow you to select or manage the input parameters for the selected Procedure.

The selections vary according to the procedure type. For example, a predefined procedure might require a support, a meshing rule, and mesh parameters, whereas a user-defined procedure might not require any input.

Tip: Use Shift + click or Ctrl + click to select multiple rows with the same procedure type. You can click the icon for one of the selected cells in the Inputs column or choose Edit Inputs from the context menu to edit the inputs for all the selected rows.
