About Tangential Behavior Overrides

Tangential behavior override features can override contact interaction property definitions.

Applying Tangential Behavior Overrides

You might have defined surface contact properties as part of a simulation. These definitions might include tangential behavior values (friction, maximum shear stress, and slip tolerance). A tangential behavior override allows you to change friction values and dependencies in a subsequent step.

The following step types are allowed:

  • General static
  • Quasi-static
  • Implicit dynamic

You can create a single tangential behavior override for each contact interaction property and edit, activate, or deactivate the override at any time.
