Importing Attributes from an XML File

You can import a specified XML file that defines the attributes you want to edit. You may find this useful if you have a large number of attributes to define. See About the Attributes XML File Format for a description of the structure and format of the XML that Simulation Process Administration expects.

About Attribute Groups
  1. Click the Attribute Groups tab.
  2. Select or create an attribute group.
  3. From the toolbar on the right, click Import All Attributes .
  4. Browse for the XML file, select it, and click Open.

Simulation Process Administration loads attributes into the selected attribute group based on the XML file.

If there is an error in the attribute file, such as invalid XML, the file is not imported from the working directory. To allow you to determine the problem with the attribute file, Simulation Process Administration does not clean up the working directory if the import fails. Similarly, the attribute file is not imported from the working directory if it contains an expression in the result element. Error messages describing the illegal expression are written to the execution log.
