To display the Response Variables Manager, click Response Variables Manager from the Response Variables section of the action bar. You can search and filter the view based on variable names. The manager displays the selection status, name, value, minimum, maximum, and objective for each response variable available in a study. Response variables describe calculated model parameters or analysis output. Their values define the outcome that you want from a study. Response variables are geometric output parameters or result values that exist in the reference analysis case. You can define constraints or objectives for each response variable. Constraints define the acceptable range of a response variable. Constraints have minimum values, maximum values, or both. If a constraint is exceeded, that design is marked as infeasible. Objectives define the goal for a response variable. You can minimize, maximize, or specify a target value for each objective and the purpose of the study is to find one or more designs that best meets all the objectives while not violating any constraints. The icons in the simple toolbar at the upper right corner of the manager allow you to create new response variables or delete a variable. You can also use context menus to make changes. For example, you can select or clear all response variables in the study. |
