About Design Space Checks
  1. From the Simulate section of the action bar, click Design Space Checks .
  2. Optional: Enter the number of Points to sample and click Refresh .

Tips: Tools along the top of the plot allow you to zoom, pan, and select points using a box or lasso. You can also use standard mouse functions like Shift + click or Ctrl + click to select multiple points.

The scatter plot or table view is updated with the new list of points to verify.
  3. From the Level of checks options, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
Model Verifies that you can rebuild the product with the new design variable values.
Model + Mesh Verifies the model and mesh generation.
Model + Mesh + Scenario Verifies the model, mesh, and updated scenario features (such as loads and boundary conditions).
  4. Optional: Clear the Update model during check check box to skip updating the model view to show the design that is being checked.

Updating the model view for a complex design can use significant resources.

Note: This option is activated only when you use Check All Points.

  5. Optional: Select Show only failed points.

Review all failures to look for patterns to reduce or eliminate them from the design variables.

  6. Click Check All Points to test all the sample points.

Tip: Position the Design Space Checks dialog box so that you can see it and the model while running the checks. This allows you to observe the changes in the model so you might see the cause of any failures.

The results are updated to identify points that passed (green) or failed (red).
  7. Optional: You can click a single point or use Shift + click to select multiple points, then use the context menu to run checks on the selected points.

Checking a single point allows you to see details that might help you diagnose why that point failed.
