Parameter Data Types

A Performance Trade-off parameter can be either a single number, a string, or a file.

A parameter in Performance Trade-off can be one of the following types:

Parameter Type Description
Single number A floating-point number or an integer.
Boolean A Boolean—TRUE or FALSE. Boolean parameters are treated as strings.
String A string, such as a description, a color, or a web browser URL.
File A parameter can refer to a file; for example, a .png file containing an image of the results of a physics simulation.

Parameters that are defined by a Boolean, string, or file cannot be used as an objective or a constraint, and Performance Trade-off does not include them in the scoring and ranking calculations.
