About Parallel Coordinate Plots

Parallel coordinate plots are suited for visualizing multiple parameters and analyzing patterns or relationships between them.

In a parallel coordinate plot, each parameter is represented by a vertical axis. Each alternative is represented by a colored line representing alternatives, intersecting with the vertical parameter lines based on their values for those parameters.

The order of the parameter axes can help uncover patterns between parameters and alternatives. Selecting too many parameters can make it difficult to view different alternatives and any patterns. You can simplify the parallel coordinate plot by limiting the number of parameters measured and filtering the number of alternatives displayed.
