Creating Cumulative Frequency Plots

You can use Visual Analytics to create a cumulative frequency plot to show the sum of alternatives with parameter values in or below each range.

  1. From the visualization controls in the upper right of the Visual Analytics canvas, click New Visualization .
  2. Select Histogram.
  3. Enter a Title and Description.

    The title appears on the visualization when it is added to the canvas.

  4. Select a parameter for which to measure frequency on the X Axis.
  5. Clear Apply filters to ignore filters applied to the visualizations canvas in the Filters panel.
  6. Select Show frequency as a percentage to display the frequency of values in each bin as a percentage of the total number of values.
  7. Select Show statistics to list statistical values such as the mean and standard deviation in the visualization.
  8. Select Show constrained areas to show constrained areas for the specified parameter on the X-axis.
  9. Do one of the following:
    • Click Create and Close to create the new visualization and to return to the canvas.
    • Click Create to create the new visualization and to keep the new visualization window open.
  10. Click on a bar to select alternatives in that bin and to display more information in the Properties panel.

    Tip: You can hold Shift to select multiple bars.
