Managing Visualizations

You can change and manage each visualization on your Visual Analytics canvas.

This task shows you how to:

  • Click Visual Analytics to run your analytics case.
  • Create a visualization.

Edit a Visualization

  1. From the title bar of a visualization, click Menu .
  2. Click Edit .
    The visualization configuration options appear to the right.

Delete a Visualization

  1. From the title bar of a visualization, click Menu .
  2. Click Delete .
    The visualization is deleted, and no longer appears on the canvas.

Download a Visualization Image

For some visualizations, you can download an image as a .png.

  1. Hover over a visualization.
  2. Click Download .
    An image of the visualization is downloaded to your computer as a .png.

View Properties of Alternatives

  1. Create a visualization.
  2. Select one or more data points. For some visualizations, such as a 2D scatter plot, you can drag a perimeter around multiple data points to select them all.
    The selected data points appear as alternatives in the Properties panel. If the Properties panel is not expanded, click on the far right to expand it.

Like, Recommend, or Add an Alternative to the Basket

  1. Create a visualization.
  2. Select one or more data points. For some visualizations, such as a 2D scatter plot, you can drag a perimeter around multiple data points to select them all.
    The selected data points appear as alternatives in the Properties panel. If the Properties panel is not expanded, click on the far right to expand it.
  3. From the top of the Properties panel, select one of the following:
    OptionDescription
    Like "Likes" the data point. Liking a data point is an indication to others that you are considering the data point to be a recommended alternative. In effect, you are voting for an alternative. Hover over Like to list the people who have liked the alternative.
    Add to basket Adds the data point to the basket. You can review alternatives in the basket from the Compare page. For more information, see Compare.
    Recommend Designates the data point as a recommended alternative. You can recommend more than one alternative, and details about the alternatives are displayed on the Recommend page. For more information, see Recommend.
