Manipulating the Process Flow

You can reset positions, center the diagram, and detach an activity from the process flow.

This task shows you how to:

Center an Activity

You can center an activity in the viewer.

Centering an activity is useful in a large process when you want to adjust the process diagram to be centered on a specific activity.

  1. Open a simulation process.
  2. Right-click the activity that you want to position in the center of the viewer, and click Center in Viewer.
Automation Process Composer moves the process diagram so the selected activity is in the center of the viewer.

Reset All Positions

You can reset all manually repositioned items in the simulation process to the automatically computed optimal positions. This is helpful if you have been manually adjusting the process diagram. In addition, you can reset a single activity instead of all the activities in the simulation process.

  1. From the View section of the action bar, click Reset All Positions .
Automation Process Composer returns the simulation process to its optimal position.
  2. To reset an activity, right-click the activity and click Reset All Positions.

Detach an Activity from the Simulation Process

You can detach an activity from the simulation process. The detached activity does not run.

  1. Open a simulation process.
  2. Right-click the activity that you want to detach, and click Detach From Flow.

Alternatively, you can manually delete the flow links into and out of the activity and reconnect the flow.

A warning symbol appears on the activity indicating that the item is not part of the flow and will not run. The detached activity is moved to the right of the process.

Zoom In on an Area of the Simulation Process

You can highlight part of a process to zoom in on that area.

  1. Open a simulation process.
  2. From the View section of the action bar, click Zoom area .
  3. Click and drag to surround the part of the process you want to zoom in on.
Automation Process Composer zooms in on the highlighted area.

Enable Layout Lock Mode

You can disable or enable the movement of activities.

  1. Open a simulation process.
  2. From the View section of the action bar, click Layout Lock .
Automation Process Composer locks the position of activities in the process.
  3. Click Layout Lock again to reposition activities.
