About Gravity

Gravity is a linear force that acts uniformly on all bodies in a model.

Like the downward force exerted by the Earth on all bodies, a gravity load affects all bodies in a simulation. Geometry supports are not selected as part of a gravity definition; the load is applied automatically to the entire model. You can apply multiple gravity loads in a simulation.

A gravity definition is prepopulated with values representing Earth's gravity, assuming the negative Z-direction in the global axis system represents the downward direction in your model. You can modify the components and orientation of the gravity load to change its overall direction or magnitude.

Gravity loading requires that every material used in the simulation has a density option defined.
