Using the Content Chooser
  1. Create a simulation by doing one of the following:
    • From the Compass, click the app you want to use.
    • From the top bar, select Add > Content. In the New Content dialog box, expand Types > Simulation, and select Physics Simulation.

In the Select App dialog box, select the app that you want to use, and click OK.

The app reflects the type of response that you want to study in your model. The app determines which simulation features you can define on your model and which results the simulation returns.

  2. If the Simulation Initialization dialog box appears as you open the app, complete the following:
    1. Optional: Enter a Simulation title.
    2. Choose an Analysis type.

The available options depend on the app. For example, in Mechanical Scenario Creation you can select General, Structural, Thermal, or Thermal-Structural. In some apps, you might not have any options.

  3. If a product is not open, use the Content Chooser to select a product on which the simulation is performed.

You are also prompted to select a product if the open product does not meet the simulation criteria.

Your product opens in the selected app.
