About Test Steps

Test steps are used to provide a set of instructions to perform a test described by the test script.

Test steps provide a way for the methods developer to specify step-by-step instructions to be followed when executing a test. The methods developer can specify the expected result of each step and can link associated step data that might be needed to help you run the test script.

Step data can be anything on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. For example, you might need to run a batch file.

Note: Test steps do not have a dedicated maturity state. Access to test steps and allowable actions depend on the maturity state of the test script.
