Creating Test Specifications

You can create a new test specification to define the overall testing strategy.


Before you begin: If you are not already on the landing page, close the test management object you have open.

  1. From the landing page, click Create a New Test Specification.
  2. Enter a descriptive name for the Title.
  3. Optional: Enter a Description to uniquely identify the test specification.
  4. Optional: Select a Requirements Specification / Chapter to link to the new test specification.

    You can select more than one requirements specification or chapter.

  5. Optional: Select an Engineering Item to link to the new test specification.
  6. Optional: Select a Project to link to the new test specification.

    If you link the test specification to a project, the test execution objects that belong to the test specification become tasks in the project. Otherwise, the test execution objects are collaborative tasks.

  7. Click Create.

The new test specification is displayed in the Review pane. The test specification is in the In Work state, by default.
