Request Additional Output

Request additional output parameters, such as the coverage efficiency of installed antennas, for your results analysis. The coverage efficiency is the percentage of the far-field sphere around an installed antenna that has a gain above a threshold you specify. A coverage efficiency under 100% indicates that the antenna's radiation pattern might include nulls or is not omnidirectional. A very small coverage efficiency could mean that you defined a gain threshold that is too high.

In this example, you specify a threshold gain of 0 dB over the entire far-field sphere when requesting output for the coverage efficiency. 0 dB means that the directivity is equivalent to the isotropic radiator.

  1. From the Output section of the Assistant, select Output .
  2. From the Performance indicators section, click across from Coverage Efficiency (%).
A dialog box containing the coverage efficiency options appears.
  3. Enter 0 dB as the Threshold.
  4. From the Angular range options, select All.
When you simulate the coverage tests, the app calculates the coverage efficiency over the entire far-field sphere as opposed to a sector of the far-field sphere.
  5. Click OK.
