Create and Assign Tasks

Create a design and an analysis task in your new project to specify what part needs analysis and improvement in the assembly.

You are creating these tasks to help organize your team so that Darcy Design Engineer and Sam Simulation Analyst know which specific tasks they will be contributing to. They will be able to update their progress and access content attached to their tasks.

If you are completing this example alone, assign the tasks to yourself.

  1. Within Project Planning, select Tasks.
  2. Create a new task, and name it Design new component.

    You will add content to the task later.

  3. Similarly, create two more new tasks, and name them Validate new design and Analyze new design.
  4. Assign the Design new component and Validate new design tasks to Darcy Design Engineer.

    Darcy Design Engineer can now see her tasks in the project.

  5. Assign the Analyze new design task to Sam Simulation Analyst.

    Sam Simulation Simulation Analyst can now see his task in the project.
