Define the outer surface of the drone in the fluid domain using a surface
definition.
You can select multiple surfaces to group them in a surface definition. The surface
definition allows for quick selection of the surface, which is particularly useful when
creating features and analyzing the results of a simulation.
In this example, you edit the fluid domain created in the previous step to define the
outer surface of the drone. You use this surface definition later when you analyze the
results of the simulation.
From the Model section of the Assistant, click Fluid Domain.
Group the drone's exterior faces into a single feature so that you can quickly
select them later.
Click in the Surface
Selections section.
Name the surface selection Drone Surface.
From the context toolbar, click Face Propagation.
Select any surface of the drone.
A second context toolbar appears.
Enter 180deg in the context toolbar, and click Propagate.
Specifying 180 degrees extends the propagation to all connected
surfaces of the part.
Select the Regions field, and then select the
blue cube glyph in the 3D area.
Tip:
You can also expand Model > Drone A.1 > Airflow Mesh > Abstractions > Physical Environment.1 > Fluid Cavities.1 in the tree and select Region.1.
