Updating Documents

You can check for updates of documents that are open in Inventor and refresh your active session to synchronize those updates.

Tip: Documents with status in Inventor have a later iteration in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform, and require an update. If a open document is obsolete, a warning message appears in Inventor. The warning message appears only once for a particular document in an active session.

Before you begin: Open the Global Refresh dialog box. For more information, see Global Refresh Dialog Box.
  1. Select either of the following option from the Global Refresh Scope list:
    • Active Document: By default, the scope is Active Document, that is, the active document and all documents that it points to are highlighted in blue color in the Inventor specifications tree.
    • All in Session: Lists all documents currently open in the active session and documents it points to.
  2. Click to filter all new root objects and unmodified up-to-date documents for which no action can be performed.
  3. Click OK to update all selected documents.

Selected documents are updated. If the modification date of the selected document in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is more recent than the iteration of document open in Inventor, a tool tip appears indicating that the document saved in 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is more recent and by default it is included in global refresh scope.
