If you exclude a design from the SOLIDWORKS BOM and thereby exclude it from the 3DEXPERIENCE Engineering BOM, nobody can perform an EBOM Sync operation on the object since it has been marked for exclusion from the BOM. If a relationship between an object and its parent is marked for exclusion from the BOM, then the entire structure below the object, including that object, is excluded from the Engineering BOM of its parent. For example, assume you have a handlebar and one of its component assemblies is the brake assembly. If you exclude the brake assembly from the BOM in SOLIDWORKS (by selecting the Exclude from bill of materials check box from the Component Properties dialog box):
