Saving a Customized Card

You can save a customized card either to the 3DEXPERIENCE server or locally to your system.

Before you begin: Ensure that the customized card you want to save is the active card in the Card Editor.
  1. Click Save or select File > Save.

If you previously saved the card, the Save Card dialog box allows you to either:

    • Save locally only
    • Save and check in

Make your selection to complete the save and skip the remaining steps.

  2. From the Save Card dialog box, select an Object type.

The default is the object type you select when creating the card. If you change the object type when you save the card, the card inherits the saved object type in its Card Properties.

  3. In Title, type a card name.
  4. To save the card on your local drive, select the Save only locally check box; otherwise save to the database by ensuring the check box is cleared.

Tip: Select the Save only locally check box if you are developing and testing a card. When you are satisfied with your customized card, save the card again; this time, select from the Save Card dialog box Save and check in. Or, if you save the card with a Save As, ensure the Save only locally check box is cleared.

  5. Click Save.

Your customized card becomes the active card for the card type specified in Object type. For example, if the Object type is WorkspaceVault, the card is the active folder card. If you save the card locally, the card is only your active folder card. However, if you save the card to the database, it is the active folder card for your organization.
