Log Files Created by the Connector for SOLIDWORKS Installation

This section describes information about the log files created by the installer during server installation.

The installer log files are written to the user installation directory you select. In case of Only UI mode installation, in which you are not prompted for a user install directory, the log files are written to <CORE_DIR>\Apps\Integrations\<SolidWorks Integration Dir>.

Ensure that you have write access to the user installation directory. In case of UI mode installation, if you do not have write access to the <CORE_DIR>\Apps\Integrations\<SolidWorks Integration Dir> directory, the installer is unable to create the log file. (In case of schema installation, the installer does not proceed with the installation till you have write access to the user installation directory.)

The installer writes the following log files:

ENOVIA_SolidWorks_Integration_release_number_InstallLog.log

Where:

release_number is the release version number.

This log file provides a summary of each installer action, and records whether the action was successful. In a successful installation, no action has a status of ERROR against it.

InstallSWSchemarelease_number.log

Where:

release_number is the release version number.

This log file is created only if schema installation is run. It is a detailed log of all the schema installation elements.

installSWSchema.log

This log file is created only if schema installation is run. This log is an abbreviated log of the schema installation. It is displayed in the installer panel after the installation completes.

installSWSchema.err

This log contains the standard error output of the schema installation. In a successful installation, the file is empty. If any errors are written to this file during schema installation, the file contents are displayed in the installer panel.

If you encounter any failures during installation, save these log files to help troubleshoot the problem.
