You can promote an object through the lifecycle states in either the web client, in the SOLIDWORKS view of Connector for SOLIDWORKS, or in Windows Explorer. Wherever you promote a CAD object, it passes through the following lifecycle states:
When you promote an object, you should promote all its referenced files. Likewise, when you promote a drawing, you should promote its referenced part or assembly. For more information about object lifecycles and object promotion, see X-CAD Design Management User's Guide. Note:
While you can promote in both the Web client and in Connector for SOLIDWORKS, you can only demote objects in the Web client.
