Connector for SOLIDWORKS

Connector for SOLIDWORKS provides a multi-site SOLIDWORKS design data management solution for the extended enterprise. It enables designers to access and share each other's designs from within the native SOLIDWORKS user interface by using the design team collaboration capabilities of X-CAD Design Management.

Users X-CAD preference setting for ‘Related Document’ will be honored by SLW Check in & Undo-Check out command.

When ‘Related Document’ is set to ‘None’ (OOTB) the related drawings will not be listed in the tree for Check in and Undo-Check out dialog box. When ‘Related Document’ is set to ‘Related Drawing’ the related drawings will be listed in the tree for Check in and Undo-Check out dialog box.

Using Connector for SOLIDWORKS, you can

  • Access to 3DEXPERIENCE capabilities within the SOLIDWORKS user interface thereby enabling you to access, manage, share, and store CAD design data effortlessly, without leaving their preferred environment.
  • Open Windows Explorer to a local view of the database. This view shows the workspaces and folders you have access to and also provides My Work, a directory where you can add links to designs to create your own workspace. From Windows Explorer, you can view design properties, preview designs, search, see references contained in a design, and see where a design is use
  • Connect to the database using the X-CAD Design Management predefined access setup. You can get and check out designs and associated drawings to your local drives. After you make your desired modifications, you use X-CAD Design Management to save changes in the 3DEXPERIENCE database by releasing and checking the files back in.
