Dragging and Dropping Files
- In My Work, create a folder for the files you want to add.
- Navigate to the files you want to add and select them.
-
Drag the files to the new folder.
The files are added as copies of the original files. The grayed out appearance of the files indicates that they are not in the database.
- If a dialog box appears asking for an object type selection:
- From the dialog box, select an Object Type.
- Optionally, select the Always use this type by default check box.
When you select the Always use this type by default check box, the software does not display the object type dialog box for any other files copied or dragged and dropped into the Windows Explorer view of Connector for SOLIDWORKS.
- Click Select.
You only see the object type dialog box if:
- The Show file data card when a new file is saved check box is selected in the Options dialog box. You can access this dialog box in the SOLIDWORKS view by selecting 3DEXPERIENCE > Options.
- Your administrator has set more than one object type in X-CAD Design Management for the MCADInteg-BusTypeMapping attribute.
- To add the files to the database as global objects, select them and click Action > Check In.
- In the Check In dialog box, ensure that the Check In check box is selected for each file you want to add.
- Click Check In.
