In Windows Explorer, navigate to the root of the local view of the 3DEXPERIENCE database.
Note:
If you are already working in another 3DEXPERIENCE workspace or folder in Windows Explorer, click the 3DEXPERIENCE icon on the left side of the 3DEXPERIENCE toolbar to go to the database root.

In the right pane, right-click and click .

Type a name for the workspace.

Double-click the workspace to open it.

Right-click in the workspace and click .

Type a name for the folder.
- Add files to the folder using one of the following methods:
- While working in SOLIDWORKS, save designs to the folder.
- In Windows Explorer
- Copy and paste files into the folder
- Drag and drop files into the folder
Note:
You can also use X-CAD Design Management to create workspaces and folders and add files. Follow the instructions in the X-CAD Design Management help.
- If a dialog box appears asking for an object type selection:
- From the dialog box, select an Object Type.
- Optionally, select the Always use this type by default check box.
Selecting the Always use this type by default check box means that the software no longer displays the dialog box when you add files to a folder in the Windows Explorer or SOLIDWORKS view of Connector for SOLIDWORKS. - Click Select.
The dialog box only appears if: - The Show file data card when a new file is saved check box is selected in the Options dialog box. Access this dialog box in SOLIDWORKS by selecting Options from the ENOVIA tab.
- Your administrator has set more than one object type in X-CAD Design Management for the MCADInteg-BusTypeMappiong attribute.
- Complete the data card as needed.
- To add the files to the server, select them and click
